Inspiring Interiors :: Yves Saint Laurent's Morocco

Happy Friday dears!  What are you up to this weekend?  My friends and I are going to be doing The Handlebar Pedal Pub tour on Saturday morning...it should be interesting to say the least!  Have any of you done one of these?  I know they have gotten really popular lately, so I'm curious to hear what you think!

I have been listening to Grace Coddington's self-titled memoir, "Grace," on tape this past week and I absolutely love her dry-wit and fascinating insight into the fashion industry of the 20th and 21st century.  A lot of the book is name dropping {this designer, that photographer, this model, etc.} and she mentions over and over that one of her favorite designers from the 60's-70's was most certainly Yves Saint Laurent {she used to faint at many of his shows}.  In addition to loving his clothes, she also visited his home in Morocco which she described as absolutely magical.  I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and after doing a little research have to agree with her - YSL's Morocco is absolutely fantastic.  Yves and his partner, Piere Berge, actually owned three homes in Morocco: Dar es Saada, Villa Oasis {with the famous Jardin Majorelle that is open to the public}, and Villa Marouka.  The colors, the textures, the architecture, the prints, the textiles...I am absolutely smitten and dying to visit the beautiful country of Morocco!
